- As a valued member of the Irvine Tigers Soccer Club coaching team, your role will be pivotal in guiding young players towards both personal and team excellence.
- Engaging Training Sessions: Design and conduct training sessions that are not only informative but also enjoyable, ensuring that players are motivated to learn and grow.
- Curriculum Implementation: Execute our curriculum designed to develop both skills and character in players.
- Age-Appropriate Training: Develop and deliver training sessions tailored to the age groups of 5 to 10, focusing on technical skills, tactical understanding, and physical development.
- Enhancing Individual Abilities: Utilize drills, exercises, and scrimmage games to enhance players’ individual skills and their abilities to work cohesively within a team.
- Inclusive Environment: Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment where every player feels valued and inspired to improve.
- Player Assessment: Identify individual players’ strengths and areas for growth, offering constructive feedback to aid their development journey.
- Sportsmanship Advocacy: Instill a strong sense of sportsmanship, emphasizing fair play, respect for opponents, and adherence to rules.
- Tailored Support: Work with players of varying skill levels, providing personalized guidance to challenge and nurture each individual’s progress.
- Collaborative Approach: Collaborate with assistant coaches, parents, and club management to effectively organize team activities, competitions, and events.
- Coaching Team Involvement: Participate in regular coaching staff meetings to assess progress, devise strategies, and evaluate player advancement.
- Parent Communication: Maintain transparent communication with parents, addressing concerns, sharing progress updates, and discussing team activities.
- Adherence to Policies: Abide by the club’s policies, guidelines, and code of conduct to ensure a respectful and nurturing environment.
- Soccer Expertise: Demonstrate a solid understanding of soccer fundamentals, rules, tactics, and age-specific player development.
- Adaptable Coaching: Display the ability to work with players of various skill levels and adeptly adjust coaching approaches to suit individual needs.
- Participant Waivers: Ensure all participants complete required waivers prior to participation.
- Punctuality and Professionalism: Arrive on time to sessions, providing a positive experience for both faculty and families.
- Preparedness: Arrive physically and mentally prepared for each session.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and set up equipment as needed.
- Session Schedule: Fridays: 4:00 PM – 5:15 PM & Sundays: 3:00 PM – 4:15 PM
- Excellent Interpersonal Skills and Positive Energy: We are seeking individuals with exceptional interpersonal skills and a positive, energetic personality that can inspire and motivate young athletes. It’s essential that you enjoy teaching young children and can create a supportive and engaging environment for them.
- Passion for Youth Development: A genuine passion for youth development and a strong desire to nurture a love for soccer in young players is a must. Your dedication to fostering their growth and development both on and off the field is highly valued.
- Effective Communication: Patience, empathy, and the ability to communicate effectively with children and parents are crucial. You will need to establish clear and positive communication channels to create a positive experience for all involved.
- Strong Communication Skills and Punctuality: Excellent communication skills are essential for maintaining clear communication with the team and club management. Punctuality is highly valued to ensure smooth operations during practices, games, and other events.
- Reliable Transportation: You must have reliable transportation to commute to and from work and hold a valid driver’s license to transport equipment and materials if needed.
- Background Check: All candidates must pass a Child Abuse History Clearance and Background Check to ensure the safety and well-being of our young athletes.
- Previous Teaching or Coaching Experience: Prior teaching or coaching experience in youth soccer, preferably with children aged 5-10, is a strong advantage. Your experience will contribute to the development of our players and the success of our club.
- CPR/First Aid Certification: Possession of CPR/First Aid certification is preferred. If not currently certified, willingness to attain certification is important for the safety of our players.
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Responsibility and Growth Attitude: We value team members who take responsibility for their role and who have a growth-oriented attitude. Adaptability and a willingness to learn and improve are essential.
