Meet Head Coach Jose Oliden, a dedicated figure in the world of youth soccer, whose passion and expertise continue to shape the Irvine Tigers. A native of Nayarit, Mexico, Jose graduated from Savanna High School in 2006 where he was an integral part of the high school soccer program for four years. His journey in soccer did not stop with his school years; it only grew stronger. Jose pursued higher education while nurturing his coaching career, majoring in Kinesiology at Santa Ana College. His academic pursuits were paralleled by his athletic achievements, notably being a key player for the Santa Ana College soccer team in 2010 and 2011, where he helped his team clinch the Orange Empire Conference title two consecutive years. His outstanding defensive skills as a center back earned him a spot on the First Team All-Orange Empire Conference. Expanding his coaching horizon, Jose led Deportivo Valley in Moreno Valley for five years, during which the team won multiple tournaments under his guidance. His experience also includes participating in various soccer camps, enhancing his ability to teach and mentor young athletes. Jose’s qualifications are as impressive as his coaching history. He is a certified Personal Trainer and Performance Enhancement Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Further solidifying his coaching credentials, he holds certifications from Human Kinetic Coach Education and the California Interscholastic Federation. Currently, he holds a U.S. Soccer Federation E license and is in the process of obtaining his D license. Jose’s love for soccer was ignited in his childhood, spurred by his brothers and the proximity of a soccer field just a block away from his home. Soccer quickly became more than a sport for him; it became a lifelong passion. Jose believes deeply in the transformative power of soccer, advocating that, when used correctly, it can positively influence all aspects of life for future generations. Through his commitment, knowledge, and love for the game, Coach Jose Oliden is not just coaching soccer; he is shaping young lives, instilling discipline, teamwork, and a love for sport that transcends the soccer field.
